Swimming Lessons - Week 1

Week 1 of swimming lessons wrapped up on Friday. The weather this week was ideal for pool activities. Danika and her buddies are having a great time and gaining confidence in the water every day. As you can see in the pics she is floating on her own in a pfd!!

After swimming friday, Rita packed a lunch to have a picnic in the park. Kids had lots of fun. Had a former student take a family photo for us (thanks Maggie). Cade sure likes his grapes. Not sure why he's so protective of them. He's usually pretty good at the sharing/taking turns thing, but not when it comes to grapes. Father's Day Fishing

Hey everyone, long time no blog! The day began with rainy, stay-inside and play type weather. Danika convinced Cade and I to play Barbie Dress-Up. Sorry no photos of that one and they certainly will not make it to the internet!

Anyway, Danika and I went out between the showers and did a little fishing at the pond. Lots of action!! Too bad they are just slimy little carp. Danika is too young to know the differance. She asked if we were going to keep some to eat but I pursuaded her to have grilled cheese instead. It didn't take her long and she was realing 'em in

by herself. She started just about jumping out of

her rubber boots when she felt a fish tug

on the line. Quite funny.

It's hard to tell, but that is Dani under all that hair. She got an early birthday present from Granpa Art, Mom, and Dad. The zipper locks so its sooo nice. Close'em in and your free!! May Long Weekend

Mother's Day

Here is a beautiful picture that Danika made for me for Mother's Day. It's me walking outside with Wyatt. I have to brag, my daughter sure is talented. I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We went to Smitty's for breakfast(which I pigged out), played at the play ground, went to the greenhouses to get some flowers and had an awesome rib supper that Chad made. I couldn't have had a better day:) Chad and Danika built this bird house together. Danika keeps checking everyday if a bird moved in. No neighbors yet. Cades favorite thing to do, talk on the phone ( I wonder who he gets that from) and ride his Zebra. I thought this is a nice picture to show you that Chad took. She sure gets her good looks from her mom:) Canada's Next Top Model here she comes.

Summer weather

Finally, A nice day to wash our bikes for the many trips we plan to take. Look at me, I'm riding my bike! Watch out everyone I am on the loose! You know your a red neck when it only takes 2 minutes to mow the lawn. Yeah! Dad put the swing set together. Now we'll never leave the back yard. After a busy day outside its time to share a sucker. Nothing's better than my big sister reading me a book.

Easter Sunday

Hi everyone! We hope your Easter Weekend was as full of family, friends, and choc. as ours was. Cade was a little confused at all the fuss, but Danika was right into it. It didn't take him long though and he was able to see there was value in the basket but was not sure why. Ah yes. The pose with the bunny ears. How cute. OK Mom, these things make me look stupid. Danika was able to brave the cold and check outside for more loot. After she found them all she thought it would be fun to hide them again and have another hunt! Practice makes perfect right. Cade needed to wear off some of the sugar by doing some house work. He can't stand a messy kitchen. (yeh right, as if mom would give him any chocolate)

Spring Break

Yesssss, our family tradition continues. The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair Day of spring break week. Our first encounter was the horse-mascot-person. Nice to start the day with a bang. The first place the kids wanted to go was, you guessed it, the baby animal farm. The bigger kids (Dani, Thomas, & Katie) really got into it. Picked up, petted, mauled, however you'd like to describe it every animal in sight. Jackson (on the right with Darren) & Cade were not as impressed.

Cade was happy to people watch in the stroller. Bunnies, birds, lambs, nothing was that exciting according to Cade.
